#21. Ride some, walk some, taste some! A 3-in-1 experience.
📍Beaver Creek Coffee Estate, Port Edward, KZN.
🥳Fun factor: 3 (in 1) is the magic number! We all got what we desired and that makes for happy hearts all round #winning
🏋🏾‍♀️Fitness level: depends which trail you choose and how you choose to do it (ride, run or walk). The avid trail runner will have a great time on any route. The novice runner, causal walker or “I’m just here for the coffee” person can easily do shorter routes. The beginner rider will also enjoy these trails.
👧🏾 Suitability for Kids: yebo!
đź’¸Cost: R20 to walk/run. R40 to ride. R60 for the coffee tour.
🤩 What we loved most:
– The fact that we all got to do something we enjoy. I got on my bike & cruised the trails. I came back to walk a short trail with the kids, and after that did a “crop to cup” coffee tour & tasting with my sister and her teenage kids.
– If you want a longer ride, the Beaver Creek trails join up with Clearwater trails, which take you through macadamia nut orchards, banana plantations, small forests and stream crossings. You soon find yourself overlooking the Umtamvuna River Gorge feeling wonderfully tranquil and thankful.
– Let’s talk about the food: The mouthwatering burger with the coffee sauce was mouthwateringly delightful (intentional repetition). It isn’t on the menu but definitely needs to be. And the carrot cake: perfectly moist and textured. I could go on about the other meals, but in order to be able to defend my “It was my recovery meal” story, I should stop there. Just to add that no-one was disappointed with their meal.
🚦What you need to know: If you’re riding look out for the sneaky incline that will test you on the “short” 10km route when you head home. Nothing you can’t push your bike up if you need to get off. Also, the coffee (and food) at the end are worth it.
In short, it’s a yass girl (or guy) from us! 👍🏾
