Camp at Home

13. Camp out! At home.

šŸ“Your back yard.

Oh yes! That’s what we did last night ā›ŗļø

🄳Fun factor: braai, toasted marshmallows, swimming into the night, star gazing. Dezember vibes are here!

šŸ‹šŸ¾ā€ā™€ļøFitness level required: n/a

šŸ‘§šŸ¾ Suitability for kids: every little person needs at least one (home) camping experience in their life!

šŸ’øCost: that’s the best part – nada, mahala, freelimo. In fairness though, you’ll need to buy or borrow a tent.

🤩 What we loved most:
– You don’t need to leave your home to explore outdoors, have an adventure & make memories. Hello stay-cation.
– Consider this an alternative to glamping. You get the outdoor camping experience but with clean ablution facilities, running water & when it’s time to sleep, the parents do it indoors on a bed #winning .

🚦Reality check: some of us go ā€œcampingā€ every time we go to our home village (ie where there’s no electricity, running water or 800 thread count bedding). So we know that ā€œlet’s-pay-money-to-sleep-in-a-tent-outsideā€ camping isn’t for everyone and that’s why this worked for us.

We also scored some serious all round family points. Nephews didn’t want to leave. Their parents were loving us for the child-free night. And the kids woke up asking ā€œCan we do that again soon, Mama?ā€

#highfive all round! Do try the camp at home experience this summer. The pleasure is ours šŸ˜

P.s we’ll be calling in the favour when we need a child free night-nyana. After all, keDezember!

šŸ‘‰šŸ½ check out Instagram highlight #13 for more pics of our outdoor home adventure. In truth, we were so into the moment we forgot to stop to take Insta pics. We’ll be more focused next time šŸ˜‚
