Everton Gorge

Get Outside. Declutter your mind.

#24. A walk to clear the mind

📍Everton Gorge

🥳Fun factor: exercise is therapy and nature heals. This is exactly what I needed to declutter my mind. I left feeling resolute & ready to seize the day.

🏋🏾‍♀️Fitness level: beginner.

👧🏾 Suitability for kids: yebo! The friend who recommended this trail did it very comfortably with her 4 year old.

💸Cost: make a donation. Do the right thing and scan the zapper QR code to help keep the conservatory accessible and safe.

🤩 What we loved most:
– It’s a wonderfully peaceful walk. The sounds in the forest are simultaneously soothing and invigorating.
– There are 2 waterfalls! Two! As a first timer here, I was perfectly satisfied with the just one waterfall and was headed home with a happy heart. And then I saw the second waterfall in all her majestic glory. Amazing Grace! How sweet the sight and sound!

🚦 What you need to know: You definitely don’t need to train (or be fighting fit) for this lovely walk, but you do need to able to manoeuvre over rocks to cross the river. You also need to be agile enough to step over roots and around boulders along the trail.

In short: I’m so happy with this discovery. Do yourself a favour and find a local park or short trail that’s easy to access when you need a quick escape to clear your mind. Mental health matters. Nature heals. Exercise is medicine. Go get yours.
