Giba Gorge MTB

# 1: Mountain biking @gibagorge (green route)

📍 EThekwini Municipality (Pinetown)

Fun factor:  life is better on a mountain bike.

Level of fitness required: intermediate. There are also beginner routes so you’re welcome to try those if you’re starting out.

Suitability for kids: only if they have MTB skills and a bit of endurance. P= The green rout is probably not for the younger ones, but there are alternatives to try out.

Cost: Park fees of R75 (adults) & R45 (children/pensioner). Also note that you can rent a bike from Giba which is wonderfully convenient for tourists/visitors.

🤩 What we loved most:
– it’s really is beautiful. The Waterfall, the shaded single track, the sounds of nature.
– the single track. There’s a bit of everything: climbing, rocks, switchbacks & also parts that just flow. Despite this description, it’s not overly technical so you can definitely cope with basic skills and have a darn good time.
– it’s a good workout and at 11km short enough to be manageable if you’re a newbie or need to work on fitness.
– they offer bike hire at a charge and a guide to come with you (free). Senzo was a vibe 🙌🏾

🚦What you need to know: you need some bike skills to actually enjoy it.

✅ On the plus: they offer lessons so if you like what you see, do sign up and soon you’ll be raving about MTB yourself.

In summary: a great way to start and a definite YES from us! 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
