Go for Golf

📍Kloof Country Club

Our community is growing & so are the gig guides wanting to add to our 100 day activity menu! Bongani & Andile magnanimously offered to take this one “for the team”.

🥳Fun factor: the beautiful setting always offers a great reprieve. Golf is a great way to clear the mind, whether you’re playing a full 18 holes, a quick 9 holes or just hitting the driving range.

🏋🏾‍♀️Fitness level: Golf isn’t about extreme fitness, it’s about finesse. A little less force, a little more focus.

👧🏾 Suitability for kids: while a full 18 holes may be too much for the very young, we’ve had some great fun at the driving range and putting with kids as young as 5yo.

💸Cost: A round of golf can cost anywhere from R120pp to > R1000pp depending on where you play. Hitting a few balls at the driving range is much more affordable at ~ R50 a bucket (~100balls). If you’re trying it out, start by hiring out at some golf clubs. If you take to it, you can even buy second hand clubs to reduce barrier to entry.

🤩 What we loved most:
– Your best golf game happens when you clear your mind & focus on the present moment. We love that golf forces your mind to quieten down.
– Many circles & relationships are developed on the golf course. The outdoors has a way of fostering friendships & we’re all about this.

🚦What you need to know: don’t give up if you don’t love it first time around. For many, it takes getting a few professional lessons & then finding a tribe that doesn’t take themselves too seriously. Who you play with makes all the difference to how much fun you have. #findyourtribe

In short : golf – it’s tee-rrific!
