#3: A local hike
š Krantzkloof Nature Reserve, Kloof
š„³Fun factor: A walk in nature always wins
šš¾āāļøFitness level required: beginner to advanced depending on chosen route
š§š¾Suitability for kids: it depends. The one featured in this post is not quite child friendly & has some seriously steep hills & boulders to conquer (fun!). But other trails are definitely accommodating of the kids PLUS thereās a great family friendly picnic area to enjoy post hike.
šøCost: R50 per adult. R20 per child.
𤩠What we loved most:
– Despite being located in the āburbs, once youāre on the river route you escape it all. Youāre immersed in nature and itās wonderfully soothing.
– The waterfall is life! Whatās also great is that you can access it from the easier routes too.
– Thereās something for everyone. Choose your distance and difficulty depending on how you feel and who youāre with.
š¦Caution – donāt forget to pack drinking water! And snacks depending on how long youāre going for. Especially in summer – bring water!
Youāll come back feeling better. We promise.
Lush surroundings, a resplendent waterfall, and the most convenient city escape – what more do you want?
Itās a YES from us šš¾
