More ways to play – try the Segway 😁
Also known as human transporter, this 2 wheeled, self-balancing electric vehicle is fast becoming a popular way of doing city tours worldwide. It’s good fun & definitely makes for an entertaining way to explore parts of EThekwini.
📍Moses Mabhida Stadium, Durban.
Also available in the South Coast. See website link below.
🥳Fun factor: GREAT fun – even the rain couldn’t stop the #goodtimes.
🏋🏾♀️Fitness level: n/a.
👧🏾 Suitability for kids: There’s no set minimum age to ride a Segway but most operators stipulate either 13yo (accompanied by a guardian if under 18yo) or at least 35kgs.
💸Cost: R285 for a 45min trip. Longer tours at different prices are available.
🤩 What we loved most:
– A different way to experience Durban’s promenade, we loved gliding, zipping and weaving along this segment of coastline. It’s a good thrill as you build confidence and start going faster and learning fun tricks on the Segway.
– While we chased “speed” and thrill (🤷🏽♀️), others in our group chose to take it easy & gently meander along the promenade, and had just as much fun. This isn’t necessarily made for the adrenaline junkie but, rather, it’s for those seeking a different & fun way to experience Durban’s promenade.
🚦What you need to know: it’s preferable to make a booking otherwise you may get bumped to the back to the back of the queue and end up waiting a frustratingly long time for a ride.
