Mqeku Camp

Mqeku Camping Adventure – @greencorridors

📍Mqeku Picnic Site

We can’t believe we only stumbled upon this 62 activities later! The design & community impact of the Green Corridoor model is everything. What a find!

🥳Fun factor: Incredible – from location, to setup, our hosts, and the activities. 62 activities in, this rates as one of our top 5. Easily.

🏋🏾‍♀️Fitness level: all packages are bespoke so they’ll cater to you however you come.

👧🏾 Suitability for kids: depending on the activity chosen, yes. Ask for details.

💸Cost: current special pricing is mind blowingly affordable at R450pp self-catering or R650(!) pp catered. Prices are inclusive of transport & all activities involved. Value. For. Money.

🤩 What we loved most:
– The setup: Simple but beautiful location, clean site, fully equipped (we lacked nothing), with everything set up for you on arrival. It’s somewhere between camping & glamping keeping the authenticity of being outdoors.
– The hosts: there’s too much to say about @jay_zikode @thulas.luthuli & Sibusiso Shangase’s great hospitality. The amount of knowledge about significant history, the community, culture & the natural ecosystem left us gobsmacked & hungry to learn more. They were friendly, relatable & professional. Nompilo made delicious food every single time & all our hosts joined us for our morning yoga session led by @dreadlockedyogi. All in all they made us feel like we’d come home.
– The activities: we did 2 hikes & also went tubing. We’ll feature these as our next 3 posts, but for the record all get a thumbs up.

🚦What you need to know: in order to remain Covid compliant they have limited the numbers for each adventure & insist that groups consist of family or social circle only. They also pay particular attention to hygiene.

In short: we give our experience an unequivocal 10/10. It was so incredible, we want to put them on BLAST!
