The pedal boat – it has our vote 👍🏾
Learn to work with the current, not against it.
📍Point Waterfront Canal
🥳Fun factor: It’s easy, breezy and fun. It’s also a little romantic, bandla, and maybe a fun way to start your next date with bae?
🏋🏾♀️Fitness level: definitely not a strenuous activity but if it’s windy out and the current picks up, you’ll need a little more effort from the legs to keep moving.
👧🏾 Suitability for kids: if they want to pedal themselves then they’ll need to be able to reach the peddles, which (depending on their height) can happen from about 7/8yo upwards.
💸Cost: R80 for a boat that takes 2 people.
🤩 What we loved most: as coastal dwellers it’s hard for us to stay away from the water for too long, so, naturally, we found a (legal) way. Being outside, feeling the ocean breeze, catching up against the scenic backdrop of the waterfront – all while raising the heart rate a bit – yes please, any day.
In short: refreshing, breezy, delightful and affordable. Get outside, go blow your ‘fro back.
