After some “land training” yesterday we’re back to give you the low down on the last, and hardest, water sport we did @ballitoskipark – #goodtimes !
🥳 Fun factor: initially frustrated at not being able to lift out of the water, it ended on the best kind of high when KC finally nailed it! The thrill experienced, though short, was absolutely worth it.
🏋🏾♀️ Fitness level required: less about fitness and more about skill and balance. There’s no predicting how fast you’ll get it but a good instructor definitely helps.
👧🏽 Suitability for kids: Theres no real age limit for wakeboarding and it depends on your child’s appetite for speed & water. Some start at early as 5years but most kids are more comfortable above 8 years old.
💸 Costs: R160 for a 15min session.
🤩 What we loved most: we’ve always admired this activity from far and the feeling of actually doing it was quite surreal. The fact that KC only got it at the end, experiencing the thrill for a few short minutes, has him hungry to come back for more. Who knows, maybe next time he’ll try some aerial tricks 🏄🏾
🚦What you need to know: The 15min is tried and tested. It’s a tough skill for most to get and by the time you do, you’re pretty tired and the time is enough. Also just note that try as you might, you may not succeed getting upright in your first session and that’s okay. If you want to give up half way, you’re welcome to use the reminder of your session to try another activity.
